Ahhh, the pain.

I am in so much pain. I feel like a complainer, but it hurts! My doctor says I'm too early for Alyvia to be dropping, but I dont know what else it could be... the morning and eveng are the worst parts of the day; poor Devon, he's the one who gets the best of my whining. If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, I'm supposed to go to Labor and Delivery...

Tonight the girls (Logann and Abbie) are staying and I thought it would be a good idea to have an early New Year's Eve party with them. Talea is making dinner and party hats with them, and I think I'm gonna talk them into "dressing up", making snacks, and some bubbly! Pretend bubbly of course...

2 more days of relaxation, then the rest of my week is soooo busy. I have to go through Alyvia's stuff to see what I do have and after my shower I'll know what I dont need. Did I mention how excited I am?!?!?!?!?!?!

Isn't it winter?

This morning around 7:30 I took Hershey out and walked outside without a coat thinking it'd be cold, but NO it was like 50 degrees! And ended up reaching almost 70. I thought it was kinda scary that we're approaching January and it feels like September.

Well anyways, Dev decided to let me sleep in today while he got up with the dog.. that was so nice of him :) I cleaned up the house a little, took a shower and we just got back from my brother's basketball game. Dev gets nervous cuz I "get in" to the game, which includes jumping and screaming, and he doesn't want me to end up going into labor... thoughful of him, yes, but I love the game, and well quite frankly have an opinion about everything. Lol.

Tomorrow he has to work 7am-7pm :( It was nice to have 3 days with each other though. Next week is busy, busy, busy! I got my stuff from Franklin to start my classes, but need to come up with the money to pay for the class...more student loans. Thursday is the McGinnis Christmas, Friday we have a tour at Riverside, Saturday is my (can you believe it) SHOWER!, and Sunday Hershey has an appointment and we'll prolly do some running around.

WHEW.

So much excitement, I can't wait.

Time flies.

Christmas went really well this year. Dev and I exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve; I got new uggs that I have been dying to have, Taylor Swift's new CD which I LOVE, and a zip up hoodie from Victoria Secret from my wonderful fiance. I bought him an equipment bag for his fire gear, a new OSU hoodie, PJ pants and Kanye West's new CD. His parents got us a few goodies too, including a VIDEO baby monitor. I was sooooo excited to open it; Dev has tried it out (he can't do anything without humor) and it worked great! We headed to my family's house where my mom gave me a beautiful bracelet with Alyvia's name on it... as well as a matching one for Alyvia herself!!

Later we visited Tash and Josh, and brought Hershey to get aquainted with Mannie... they wore each other out! We are exchanging gifts with them on New Year's Day.

Christmas Eve I had a doctor's appointment where I found out I was dialated already. I cried all the way home... I can't believe she'll be here so soon! I'm excited and can honestly say I've been blessed.

My shower is next Saturday!!!!! I can't wait to see all the goodies for Alyvia :)

2 days!

Im so excited. When it comes to Christmas, or any holiday, I act like a little kid. Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment and at night I think we're going to a church service with my mom. Christmas morning we are waking up to make donuts, exchanging our gifts (just me and dev, then with his family on New Years Day), heading to my mom's to watch my little brother get his dirtbike and give everyone our gifts, then headin to my grandma's to see the WHOLE fam. (I had to exaggerate the WHOLE because I have an ENORMOUS family. I love it.) And finally, we're still debating on going up to his grandma's... its a long story.

Anywho, Dev is now an official firefighter! He's hardly ever home, but he's doing what he has to do to support his family. I have to admit I am proud :) There's this song called 'That's a man' that reminds me of him everytime I hear it. Last night on our way home from an old friends house, it came on and he's like THAT'S ME! It was cute.

Dog update: She is STILL driving me nuts, but I'm trying. She is too cute and I can't help but love her. The hardest part is being in pain all the time. Alyvia is starting to drop already. 7 weeks!!!!!

Puppy Love.

I have a new baby. Me and Dev found a poor little black lab on the side of the road last Saturday, December 13th. She is soooo cute and a pain in my butt! I love love love her. On her 2nd night with her she was whining in her cage, so Dev decided to get her out and let her sleep in our bed! Now she's so spoiled... I cant help but cuddle up with her at night! Her name is Hershey :) For the most part, she's a really smart dog; she is starting to sit when we ask, and only had one accident in the house today. I'm not a fan of potty training, but she's getting the hang of it! She gets up every 2 or 3 hours, pees, and eats at 4:30 in the morning, but eventually goes back to sleep. There have been a few rough nights, but it'll get better.

So I'll basically be raising 3 children - Alyvia, Hershey, and Devon - tehe...

I cant wait. There is just something about the time of the year that I cant get enough of :)
And soon it'll be Baby Shower time! I am 31 weeks and one day... and already starting to feel the pressure, literally. Alyvia's arrival is approaching fast... Whew!

Tomorrow Im spending the day with my family. Decorating the tree and going to a birthday party where there will be 15 million kids running and screaming...might as well get used to it, right?

Tis the season!

My first time seeing the Rockettes was AWESOME! I loved it. The whole night was fun; Alyvia would not sit still, she loved the music and I CANT wait to take her next year! Thanks Tash and Talea for a great night!

I'm pretty much done Christmas shopping for Dev. Just a few more items for his stocking and then I'll be done! I couldnt do a lot this year, thanks to the d-bags (I cant believe I just said that) at my stupid job, but we're gonna try to make the most of it! I'm learning to be appreciative of the little things... like my wonderful Fiance and little girl in this big belly of mine! Speaking of that, I am 30 weeks and one day pregnant! It's the home stretch...! :)

Tonight is Dev's work Christmas party. I dont know anyone, and he isnt being very enthusiastic about it but I guess he can win stuff like cash or even a plasma TV! Plus we get to eat some good food.

And just 3 more weeks til my shower. YAY!

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

Today was one of those "lazy" days. I loved it though... I got SO excited when I woke up this morning and saw snow covering our cars! Ok, I lied, I didnt wake up til NOON. Ehh it was a late, eventful night. After dinner we played Cranium and Catch Phrase at Tash and Josh's house. Talk about a night full of laughs! Pictures will surely be up soon.

Devon turns the big 2-0 tomorrow. Spending today with him was nice. I know I see him every day... but I'm a big, cuddly, lovey dovey kind of person. We caught up on some missed cuddling, he rode his 4wheeler outside for a while, ordered pizza and just watched some movies... Old School as we speak. "WE'RE GOING STREAKING!" I think we're gonna make some more holiday cookies together too :)

I figured out today theres only about 2 1/2 weeks til CHRISTMAS! Oooo I am so super excited. I think Christmas Eve we're going to a church service with my mom, and going to my family get together Christmas Day at my Grandma's. Such a fun day! And on New Year's Day we are celebrating Christmas with Dev's family cuz everyone has busy schedules. It was a good idea. And 2 days after that is my baby shower! Then before you know it, Alyvia will be here!!! I know I ramble about that all the time, but I cant help it.

Job search hopefully will come to an end when I find out if I got one of these 2 jobs. FINGERS CROSSED!

Happy 20th Birthday My Love :)

Devon turns 20 Sunday. Wow, 20...and we've known each other for 12 of those years. It sounds almost impossible. Time goes by waaay too fast. I'm scared Alyvia will be a day old and before we know it walk out the door to go on her first date, move to college, or get married herself... it makes me sad. But I CANNOT wait until she is here. 10 MORE WEEKS!

I had a job interview Wednesday and am supposed to hear back from them sometime today about a 2nd interview or to let me know what my status is. I also got a call today about another interview at Huntington as a Process Specialist. My hours would be 8-5 Monday thru Friday for $10.50 an hour...its exactly what we need. My interview for that one is Tuesday at 10:30AM. Thoughts and Prayers please!

Last Sunday Dev and I went to see a Christmas Carol... I LOVE that kind of stuff. Thanks for the tickets Tash :) Now, you and that husband of yours need to get busy on a baby so we can go as a family next year!!

I cleaned this house inside and out yesterday and today... it smells sooo good. And I made sugar holiday cookies for Devon... I know, I'm a sweetheart!

You might be wondering why I am home on a Monday afternoon. Well, my piece of crap of a job decided to lay me off 3 weeks before Christmas. And get this...my real boss wasn't even the one to tell me! She had someone who has no authority over me call and tell me Saturday, on my day off... how unprofessional is that? As you could prolly imagine, I'm so stressed and depressed about it... this couldnt have happend at a worse time. She gave me a lame excuse of needing budget cuts and since I was only part-time and blah blah.... I think me being prego had something to do with it. Ive had to take a day or two off because of doctor's appointments and them having to take blood (keep in mind I pass out most of the time). Im not gonna risk driving to work afterwards and getting in a wreck or something. I have 2 lives to worry about now! I dont know what I'm gonna do. Dev acts like he isnt too worried about it... he says he makes enough money to cover "our" bills and that I need to stay home and be a momma for a while.. problem is, Alyvia isnt here yet :( About 2 more months to go...

Happy Turkey Day!

Well, almost!

I've been waiting anxiously for it! 2 dinners, my family and his. I can eat all I want and not feel guilty about it. And tomorrow marks 28 weeks being prego... what better way to celebrate! :) I made Puppy Chow earlier to take along. MmMmMm. I really miss my family too so I'm excited about seeing everyone. We're getting together at my Aunt's new house, who is pregnant with a little girl too, and I heard its beautiful. Plus I get to hand out some of my baby shower invites... the shower is in like 6 weeks! Everything is going by so fast. I had my gestational diabetes test today... the glucose crap is GROSS. After the first few drinks you just have to guzzle it or you wont be able to finish it... just a little warning to those who havent done it before!

Anywho, my bff and dev's bff are now an item! So super excited, I'm happy for her.

I'm sittin here watchin 40 year old virgin with loserface (I love him I promise)... and I'm so ready to crasssshhh.. busy day tomorrow.


Happy Thanksgiving!

Laundry, and lots of it.

So all I did today was Alyvia's laundry. Yep, she has laundry and she's not even here yet! My friend from school let me have a TON of her little girls clothes that she cant fit into anymore...which was so nice of her! It took me 5 hours to do 4 loads... and I cooked a late lunch for Devon. It was a busy, sit a home day. Thats probably what my Sundays will consist of from now on.

Yesterday we took my little sister and brother to the mall and lunch at Bdubs where we visited my mom. Jacob is playing basketball and wants a pair of Air Jordans. He's so cute.

And last night we ate dinner at Dev's Grandma's house with the whole fam. Tash brought the invitations for my baby shower and they look so cute! I'm very happy with them and told her she needs to start a business. We owe her one, big time.

Its about 8pm and I'm ready for BED. I cant believe tomorrow is Monday already.

And Thanksgiving is just around the corner...I CANNOT wait!

16 months ?!

Thats what today is! 16 month anniversary for Me and Devon :) I told him this morning that it felt like 60 years... lol. But we've made it and continue to keep making it! A year and a half down the road and we'll be married... kinda crazy to think about it, but its happening! And in 3 months, our baby girl arrives! She has moved a lot today... its the funniest yet most amazing feeling in the world. I absolutely CANNOT wait til she gets here.

Job search is STILL in progress... yes I know, its only been like 2 days, but I've been searching for what it seems like an eternity! Any help is appreciated!

Change.

Everyone is talking about it... especially the new Presidential Elect, Barak Obama. I can tell you one thing, Ineed it. I need a new, better paying job that doesnt treat me like a piece of craaaap! I need to stop being so stressed about it, but money has always been a problem for me... and I dont like to rely on others (particularly Devon) for help when I cant do things on my own. I'm still trying though! Like I said, I got that insurance agent job and am in the process of taking the study course/requirements for it... but I dont know if I wanna take it yet or not. Decisions, Decisions.... I got a few emails back from other jobs I applied for. I should be getting a phone call about an interview in the next few days (fingers crossed).

On the upside of things, only 3 more months to go! I'm more than ready for Alyvia to arrive... I think, tehe. She moves ALLL the time, and devon likes to encourage her... like blow on my belly at 10:30PM when I'M trying to SLEEP! Its cute though.

I'm super excited for my shower... Tash has been working on the invites and Mom on getting things together... eeeeee I cant wait.

Davids Bridal was neat... I found too many dresses I liked. I have a while to worry about it though... May 8th 2010 :)

Ehh well, I'm gonna get back to reading 62 pages of insurance poop. Maybe...

Happy Halloween!

So I'm spending tonight on the couch! I'm in the process of making dinner with Devon's help on the steaks... I'm starving, and we all know how deadly a 6 months pregnant woman can be! We're waiting on his friend Adam to get here... his dad passed away 2 nights ago and we just wanted to let him know we care!

I had a job interview with an insurance company Wednesday and got the job! Excited about it, but still contemplating on whether or not I should take it... I'm gonna give it about a week to decide. I'm just so sick and tired of being stressed about money :(

Tomorrow I'm gonna visit my grandparents and pick up some maternity clothes... I can fit in to about 4 of my own things.. bleeeh!

And SUNDAY, I'm going to David's Bridal to look at some dresses with my best Crystal and a few others! Speaking of that, my mom took it pretty well. Actually, we're getting along more than usual! Whew. She picked a date for my Baby Shower... January 4th. I'm soooooo excited about it!

I miss trick or treating! Well, at least the candy part. I can't wait to be able to take Alyvia.

Special Delivery!

Alyvia's crib came today! All we're waiting on is her to arrive now! It brightened up my day; after this morning I needed a smile.

HOW DUMB IS THIS?
The other day at work I checked my personal email while I was taking lunch (no one else ever clocks out for their lunch either) and opened an attachment for a job app. WELL I guess my supervisor, which she really has no authority over me, saw me or something. Anyways I closed it out, decided not to fill it out while I was at work. The next day, there was some sort of employee policy on my desk about what we are and aren't allowed to do at work. Ok that was fine with me... I signed it and gave it to my REAL boss. So today I drive all the way to work and my other "boss" (again, she has no authority over me at all) came in and said she had to write me up for it and I couldn't come back til Wednesday. WHAAAAAT? I was like whatever, took it like an adult, and left. Keep in mind that all the other people that work there, except me and the financial manager who wrote me up, either show up late every day or don't show up at all. Not kidding. Even the owners. And they take personal phone calls, play on the computer including check their email, blah blah blah... do they get in trouble, ever? NO! Of course not! I've only been there like 3 weeks too! Ahhhhhh I was livid and still kinda am, but looking for another job cuz I don't get paid jack there anyway.

Sorry, I had to vent.

ENGAGED!

On Saturday, October 18th, 2008, Devon proposed to me! And I literally about peed my pants! When he opened that little box I felt my face light up. It is sooooo pretty... I was the only one who had NO idea it was going to happen. The earliest I saw it coming was Christmas maybe! I haven't cried, until just now. Happy tears though! I'm so excited/overwhelmed/shocked... and a million other things.

I'm thinking a Spring wedding, April or Mayish 2010. Alyvia will be just over a year old and she can be a part of it!

Pumpkin Show was fa-reezing last night! Walking around for a few hours wore me out. This time next year I'll be one of those cute moms (and dev one of those cute dads tehe) pushing a stroller around! Its kinda hard to believe...but I'm ready for it.

THANKSGIVING is my favorite holiday and its like 4 or so weeks away! Mmmmm I'm so excited, I can almost taste the 3 dinners I'll be stuffing my face at! What better time is there to be 7-8 months pregnant?!!! :) And Christmas is like 10 weeks away...I wish Alyvia could be here for that! But next year she'll be about 10 months old and be able to enjoy it like a little girl should! Ahh so much to look forward to. Hopefully time goes by a little faster than usual so I can meet her!

And I'm crossing my fingers by about May 2009 me and Dev will be able to afford our own place...! Speaking of the devil, he had an interview at a fire dept today! :)

I guess its back to work for me...

Bor-ing.

Work has been super slow today. Had to run to Sam's Club and decided to unintentionally stop at Babies R Us too :) Lots of cute stuff, but I'm beyond broke.

I'm getting extremely excited...!!!! And I still have about 4 months to go. Whew.

.. at least thats what it feels like when my baby girl moves! Its nothing extreme yet, but there's little movements here and there. I can't wait til she really starts kicking!... Or can I? hehe... Devon hasnt felt it yet. She usually does it at night when I'm trying to sleep, go figure! She should hit a pound this week, yes an entire pound and probably 10 inches or so already! I've been keeping up with my weeks in 2 of the books I'm reading. Week 22 begins tomorrow! :) Just about 4 months to go...

Pumpkin Show is this week! I'm excited for all the good food... but not the gaining weight part.

I'm new to this!


My life has made many twists and turns the past 6 or so months. When I moved home from school, I decided I owed it to my relationship with my boyfriend/husband (whatever you wanna call him hehe) to have a REAL relationship after being away for 9 of the 10 months we were together, so I moved in with him in May :) Some people might say thats too soon, but we have an incredibly long past with each other and honestly, it just felt right! Plus his family was always supportive.

2 months later...

July 6th 2008, our one year anniversary, we found out we were expecting! This was waaaay unexpected.. and super scary. We're young, yes, but as the months went on I felt more and more confident about raising a baby with him! Devon has a really good job, in paramedic school, and will be done with that in a year or so.. hopefully. As for me, I have to put off finishing school for a little while. At first I wasn't too happy about that, but you gotta make sacrifices!

When we went to get our first ultrasound, he could NOT stop smiling. I think thats when I knew it was gonna be okay :)

On October 1st we found out what we were having..


IT'S A GIRL :)

**Alyvia Grace McGinnis will be here February 19th, 2009! I've started to feel her move and I absolutely LOVE it! Both families have been supportive and are almost as excited as we are!

Devon's hunting... all weekend, so I'm gonna go find something to do.
